2C-B-FLY presents cross-tolerance with all psychedelics, meaning that after the consumption of 2C-B-FLY all psychedelics will have a reduced effect. It is strongly recommended that one use harm reduction practices when using this substance. 2C-B-FLY is a substituted molecule of the phenethylamine and dihydrobenzofuran chemical classes. 2C-B-FLY features a phenyl ring bound to an amino (NH2) group through an ethyl chain and contains a bromine atom attached to carbon R4 of the phenyl ring.

Visual effects

There are people who can take relatively high doses and feel nothing. Reports have characterized its effects profile as possessing features of 2C-B, mescaline and MDA, with a duration of 6–8 hours (or up to 12 hours in larger doses). 2C-B-FLY is a derivative of the 2C-x family of psychedelic phenethylamines, specifically 2C-B, of which it significantly differs from in terms of its potency, metabolism, and potential toxicity.

Some are more visual, some more tactile, and some more emotional or introspective in nature. The most common 3C psychedelic is 3C-E, which is a 3-carbon analog of escaline. The Shulgin’s published their findings, along with the recipes to create each compound, in the book PIHKAL (Phenethylamines I Have Known And Loved). In it, they list their favorite compounds, which were aptly named the “magical half-dozen.” Most of these compounds are 2Cs, with the exception of mescaline (the starting point for all 2Cs, and DOM, which is an amphetamine). 2C substances are modeled after mescaline and are thought to work through similar mechanisms.

(PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, NOT RECOMMENDATIONS)

While the name suggests 3C and 2C compounds are related, 3C compounds are technically classified as amphetamines. Virtually any 2C compound can be dihydrofurinated, but most are either not worth it or simply haven’t been done publicly. Some reports suggest 2C-C-FLY is even more sedative and lucid than 2C-C, which some people may find enticing. This psychedelic is formidable and can still catch users off-guard if they aren’t careful. Dihydrodifuranated analogs often contain the word FLY in the name, such as 2C-B-FLY, 2C-C-FLY, etc.

Usage of 2C-B-Fly

2C-B-FLY is a psychedelic substance of the of the phenethylamine and benzodihydrodifuran classes. Even though 2C-B FLY is structurally similar to 2C-B, the effects of those drugs are not the same. The toxicity and long-term health effects of recreational 2C-B-FLY do not seem to have been studied in any scientific context and the exact toxic dose is unknown. This is because 2C-B-FLY is a research chemical with a very limited history of human usage.

The effects of this compound are distinct — meaning it is unique and has key differences to all other substances. With that said, it shares the most overlap with 2C-B, mescaline, and MDMA. 2C-B-FLY is considered to fall somewhere on the milder end of the spectrum in terms of the psychedelic effects. It isn’t as powerful as LSD, psilocybin, or 2C-B in terms of psychedelic effects but is still a formidable experience in its own right. One of the components that make this psychedelic so enticing is that it doesn’t have a debilitating effect on one’s cognitive abilities.

So in the same way that 2C-B-FLY is the dihydrodifuran analogue of 2C-B, the 8-iodo equivalent 2C-I-FLY would be the dihydrodifuran analogue of 2C-I, and the 8-methyl equivalent 2C-M-FLY would be the dihydrodifuran analogue of 2C-D. Psychedelic Research Chemicals or RC Chems are new synthetic substances which are structurally similar to the original drug, while being functional analogs. Data on their effects limited due as they’re fairly new and do not have a lot of human consumption history. Both compounds share the same phenethylamine base structure but have entirely different functional groups. The visual effects of mescaline are stronger, but both compounds have similar benefits in terms of maintaining functional cognition while high. In terms of dosage, both compounds are comparable — active in the 5 – 20 mg range, with a threshold somewhere around 5 mg.

-P: The Strongest Member of the 2C Family of Psychedelics

  • He would create and then test each of these substances with his wife, Anne Shulgin, and a group of friends to characterize their effects.
  • Dr. Alexander Shulgin is the genius behind most of the 2C family of compounds, along with many other phenethylamine and tryptamine psychedelics.
  • There are a variety of 2C substances that have been dihydrodifuranated.
  • The main problem encountered when taking too much 2C-B-FLY is overheating and dehydration.
  • More complicated alterations include the benzofurans and NBOMe compounds.

Shulgin would attach all kinds of different molecules to the R3 and R4 positions. In general, lipophilic functional groups at the R4 position produce the strongest and longest-lasting psychedelic effects. Where only one methoxy group of a 2Cx drug is cyclised 2c-b-fly into a dihydrofuran ring, the resulting compound is known as a “hemifly”, and when an unsaturated furan ring is used the compound is known as a “hemi-dragonfly”. A large family of compounds can thus be derived, many of which can be predicted to be active hallucinogens based on the known structure-activity relationships of these drugs, although most of these compounds have not yet been made and tested. Very little data exists about the pharmacological properties, metabolism, and toxicity of 2C-B-FLY, and it has little history of human usage.

It has no documented history of being sold on the streets and is commercially distributed through online research chemical vendors. Due to its high potency and sensitive dose-response, many reports also indicate that the effects of this substance should not be seen as a simple substitute for 2C-B. The diversity of chemicals that have psychedelic effects is staggering.

2C-B-FLY belongs to a group of phenethylamine derivatives referred to as the FLY compounds, named for their insect-like appearance of two “wing-like” tetrahydrofuran rings fused on the opposite sides of the central benzene ring. The incorporation of the two methoxy groups into the 5 member rings fixes them into the optimum position for binding to the receptors they interact with resulting in an increase in potency compared to the compound’s non-rigid counterpart 2C-B. All 2C compounds contain 2 methoxy groups at the 2 and 5 positions of a central benzene ring. This leaves two additional regions for other functional groups to be attached.

The effects of this compound are milder and more coherent than most 2C drugs, but it can also be a bit sedative in higher doses. It’s more relaxing than 2C-B but maintains the euphoric and aphrodisiac qualities this group is known for. 2C-B-FLY is unscheduled and uncontrolled in the United States, which means it is currently legal to buy. It’s also legal in much of Europe, but 2C-B-FLY is a controlled substance (Schedule III) in Canada. There’s no history of 2C-B-FLY being sold on the streets, so if you want to buy  2C-B-FLY, you’ll likely need to purchase it through online research chemical vendors. But it is advised to avoid combinin with other empathogens – (MDMA, 6-APB, MDA, 5-MAPB, 3-MMC), the 2C-B-FLY is suspected to act as an MAOI, and it is thus necessary to avoid any mixture with molecules releasing serotonin.

You should always test your substances using a harm-reduction drug testing kit before you take it. Even if you’re ordering from a “reputable” vendor, you should always verify the substance you have before you take it. There are virtually no scientific studies involving 2C-B-FLY, so we don’t yet have enough data to clearly define whether this compound is entirely safe or not. The effects of 2C-B-FLY are dose-dependent — which means the experience is going to be very different if you take a low dose compared to a high dose. There are dozens of mescaline-derived psychedelics, but there’s something about this one in particular that makes it stand out. You can microdose with 2C-B-Fly but drugs like LSD, psilocybin, and ibogaine are more suited for this.

List of FLY drugs

From the limited information available for this compound (basically just Shulgin’s notes), this compound has very low activity. In doses over 300 mg, the effects were reported as somewhat similar to mescaline, but with more nausea and less euphoria. The effects of 2C-I are moderately visual and entactogenic — facilitating a deeper sense of connection with others.

Where to get 2C-B-Fly

All of this is what serves to induce what we know as the psychedelic experience. Effects usually begin around 1 hour after first taking 2C-B-FLY, and peak effects are reached around the 2-hour mark. The effects then gradually start to fade out over the course of 4–6 hours. The 2C-B-FLY experience overlaps with 2C-B, mescaline, and MDMA but is distinct within itself. It’s a modification of 2C-B, which itself is a derivative of mescaline. If you are a mentally stable individual who does not suffer from psychosis or have a predisposition to schizophrenia, there is virtually no way you would develop any mental illnesses because of taking the psychedelic.

The higher dose you take, the more intense these effects will be.With that said, it is impossible to accurately describe the experience through human language. The psychedelic also affects each individual differently and no two trips are the same. Therefore, there is virtually no way to know what your trip will feel like. The only way to truly know what 2C-B-Fly feels like is to take it.2C-B-Fly will most likely give you a pleasant experience. Bad trips can happen but you can prevent them by following the tips below.

If you have any questions or comments related to psychedelics, microdosing, consciousness exploration, or harm reduction, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. In a 2007 MAPS newsletter interview, Ann Shulgin revealed that 2C-B-FLY as one of her favorite psychedelic substances while also acknowledging the high variability in responses it seemed to display. Psychedelics are substances (natural or laboratory made) which cause profound changes in a one’s perceptions of reality.

When taken at the same dose, 2C-B is going to be a bit stronger in terms of the visuals, but 2C-B-FLY has stronger effects on the body. Members of this class include psychedelics such as 2C-B, 2C-C, 2C-I, and more. The majority of the 2C-X compounds were invented in the 70s, 80s, and 90s by Alexander Shulgin, who spent decades synthesizing and testing analogs of existing psychedelic molecules. It is highly advised to approach this potent, long-lasting, and unpredictable hallucinogenic substance with the proper amount of precaution and harm reduction practices if choosing to use it.
