Events
Europe in my region 2017 (#EUinMyRegion) is a pan-European communication campaign aimed at encouraging people to discover and learn more about the projects co-funded by the European Union in their region. Lik e last year, this year, citizens can visit co-funded projects, get informed about them and share experiences and images through social media. In more than 20 countries, including Greece, projects co-funded by the European Union are open to the public or shown through a variety of events.
Through 2017 there will be events that will invite the world to get acquainted with projects funded by the EU and share the experiences of project managers during the project implementation process. Photo contests, loser treasure hunt, blogging contest, and social media contest will take place during the events. Three projects funded in the North Aegean Region will open their gates throughout April and May in three North Aegean cities (Mytilene, Chios, Limnos).
Restoration & Emergence of Chios Castle’s land walls.
Castle of Chios is one of the most important monuments of the city, built into its urban zone and inhabited until today. Significant interventions have been implemented over time in the Castle from the Structural Funds of the European Union during the previous programming periods, while in the current Programming Period another part of the (terrestrial section of its walls) is repaired in an effort to gradually restore it. |
Fixing & Rehabilitation of B.A. Near the Castle of Mytilene.
The Castle of Mytilene is the first and most imposing monument that the visitor encounters at the entrance to the city of the island. Through the OP North Aegean 2014-2020 secures a part of Perivolos, northeast of the Castle, which in combination with past and future interventions will change the image of the city of Mytilene. |
Archaeological Site of Poliochni in Limnos.
The audience will be guided in the prehistoric city of Europe and will experience the archaeological site of Poliochni, which, through the co-funded EU funds of the 2014-2020 programming period, will become another important monument of Lemnos, and a significant pole of attraction for the island. |
